West Fife Islamic Education & Welfare centre Limited, a Scottish Charity has the privilege of founding ‘Green Dome Mosque’ in Dunfermline, West of Fife from 2018 and serving the Muslims belonging to the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jammah.
The organisation was founded by several business men within Dunfermline and has been under the successful guidance of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jammah council. In the summer of 2022, the religious organisation successfully acquisition the premises for its mosque, a former historical church building dating back to 1841.
The mosque provides educational services to young Muslim girls, boys and a separate class for Huffaz, those learning to memorise the Quran. It also provides congregational five daily prayers, Jummah prayers and events celebrated by the Sunni Muslims, particularly; those belonging to the Pakistani community are also held. These events are the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) commonly known as Milaad-un-Nabi, Ghiyarhaveen Sharif, the lives of Awliya Allah and many others too. The celebration of Milaad-un-Nabi is one of the most important events held every year. During Ramadan Taraweeh prayers are offered along with iftar dinners throughout the month. The mosque also offers those who wish to participate in Itikaf during the last ten days of the month.
